Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost Will Host Military at TPC Sawgrass

(Jacksonville, FL – September 28, 2011) – Winn-Dixie is providing military and their family members complimentary access to see the future stars of the PGA TOUR play in the second annual Nationwide Tour event at TPC Sawgrass, October 20th-23rd! All active, retired, and reserve military along with their dependents will receive free tournament admission and free on-site parking with military I.D. Admission will also include access to the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost suite, located adjacent to the 9th green on the Dye’s Valley Course.

“We want to encourage all active, retired and reserve military to come out to the event this year, and create a ‘home-base’ for them on the course,” said Peter Lynch, CEO and President of Winn-Dixie Stores. “It goes without saying how much they do for our country and we want to show our respect and appreciation.”

The Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost suite will be open 9 AM – 7 PM Thursday and Friday, and 9 AM – 5 PM Saturday and Sunday. Refreshments will be served daily, and a complimentary lunch will be served on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Adorned with camouflage wristbands that say, “Support Our Troops” upon entrance, military will also be able to enjoy TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse privileges and all of the special events throughout tournament week. These events include the Monday Junior Clinic, the Friday-night concert featuring country music star Jake Owen, a free pancake breakfast on Saturday and a Family Day full of activities all day on Sunday.
